Originally christened “America’s First Family of Song” in 1965, The King Family - comprised of Grammy-nominated vocal group The King Sisters (Yvonne "Vonnie", Alyce, Luise and Marilyn), guitar virtuoso and band leader Alvino Rey, film favorite Robert "Bob" Clarke (Hideous Sun Demon), cousins Tina Cole (My Three Sons), Cam Clarke (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and more than 30 sisters, brothers, husbands, wives, aunts, uncles and children that made up their extended musical family - catapulted to fame to become one of the most popular and beloved television, recording and concert acts of the 1960’s and 70’s.
The King Family enjoyed headlining two musical variety series on network television. Their first series ran for two seasons in 1965-66. Their second series ran in 1969.
The King Family produced 17 of their own syndicated television specials from 1964-1974. Many of their holiday specials re-aired annually through 1978. The family reunited for a 2009 Public Television musical documentary celebrating their famous Christmas special.
